Heirloom Girl Christmas Apron Giveaway!

AND THE WINNER IS: GRACE WILLARD!

Thanks to everyone who entered this giveaway! It was lots of fun! I plan to do more in the future. If you have something you’d like to giveaway… please feel free to contact me! :)

I am sure all of you are quite swamped with holiday baking, decorating and gift wrapping and maybe a few last minute run-like-a-crazy-person trips into town to pick up a few overlooked gifts.

However, in the midst of all the crazy fun activities check out my giveaway this week! Elizabeth from SwankyPlace.net is offering up one of her absolutely adorable Sweetheart aprons to one lucky person who comments on this post! I found her Etsy shop on a random search and have been smitted ever since. Elizabeth has impecible taste for oh-so-cute fabric and her retro styling is like icing on the cake. I’ll let her tell you a bit about herself and then we’ll move on to the juicy details on how you could be our possible winner…

My name is Elizabeth but at SwankyPlace Aprons, everyone calls me Betty Love because I love to sew… especially aprons and kitchen accessories. I grew up in the 1960’s and 70’s when aprons were a staple in every kitchen and everything was made from scratch. My aprons are a fresh take on those familiar vintage designs. This way I can enjoy all of the fun things in todays world while staying connected to my past.

I hope my aprons inspire you to tie one on. I put a lot of thought and care into each and every apron I make and use only the highest quality fabrics. That way, when you buy your apron from SwankyPlace you know it will provide you with years of loyal service.”

  1. Oh my gosh I have wanted one of these aprons forever! So cute. I still need to make some cookies (usually I have about 10 doz by now but I only have 4!). I am also thinking of making some banana bread :)

Emilee, thanks for sharing this link and I want you to know I enjoy your blog and don’t know how you find time to do all you do!
I am baking today sweet potato bread and gearing up for our son and his family’s visit. He requested mashed potatoes and gravy for every day he is here! I still have one fresh heirloom tomato on the counter waiting for our Christmas dinner salad. It was picked green just before the frost and we’ve enjoyed eating them as they ripen.
This cute apron would look fantastic on my daughter-in-law as she makes the apple pies for our dinner after traveling here…and back at home as she bakes cakes in her cake business http://www.facebook.com/OpekasCakes
She loves to decorate with things from yesteryear and all things antique and retro. I bet we could get her to pose with her new apron in front of their ’54 Plymouth….if you wanted!
As a matter of fact, if I don’t win this one for her, I may purchase one for her Birthday coming up! Thanks!

I’m not sure what I’ll be making in the kitchen this week – nothing too fancy since I have lots of other holiday-related projects to focus on first, but I may try a new recipe or two. :)

I’m keeping it easy this week, since we own a small retail bulkfood store, and it’s busy this week, of course! :-) Planning to do some Shoofly pies though for us and a friend.

I always like to wear an apron when I work in the kitchen. My sister baked some yummy oatmeal fudge bars over the weekend. I liked them so much that I borrowed her recipe and made a big batch tonight. Can’t wait for them to get cool enough to cut and eat.

  15. Emily says:

LOVE vintage apron styles. Friends and relatives reach for aprons first when they come into my kitchen. This week I’m making hearty bean soup because I know the week will be soon filled with rich treats. Homemade soup and artisan bread. Smells like my childhood home! Memories…

  16. Melissa says:

It was fun to discover your website, Emilee! I will have to tell my husband about the heirloom seeds as we hope to start gardening this year.

This week I plan to bake: whole wheat gingerbread cookies and cranberry orange bread to give to our neighbors.

    Merry Christmas

  17. Shango says:

I’ve just been turned on to holiday buckeye candy so we are whipping up sweetened peanut butter dipped in chocolate this week. Yumm!

  18. I was just saying…”I need to make an apron!” Fruitcake, cranberry bread, rye bread and monster cookies are happening in this kitchen!

  19. Grace Willard says:

This apron is adorable! With it’s festive polka dots, heart shaped bodice and pocket who could resist the charms of a girl who wears this fun apron? This has got to be the official apron of the “Hostess with the Most-ess”, add in some treats from the kitchen and you instantly have a party!

  20. Laura says:

I’m making Chocolate Peanut Butter fudge today!

  21. Amanda says:

I am making gingerbread, sugar cookies, and some cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning.

  22. Grace Willard says:

I just read the fine print (aka the rules of the contest), and realized I didn’t add what I’m making in the kitchen this week!

I’m making buckeyes (with Shango!), sugar cookies, and something lemony. I just bought a box of candied lemon peel, and need a recipe!

I’ll be making snickerdoodles, pear cinnamon rolls, and sweet potato/black been enchiladas. Happy Holidays!!

  24. Curtis Swartzentruber says:

My wife (who is a new mom as well) would love this apron. She has a couple of vintage ones already.

As far as cooking, still would like to make some Mexican wedding cakes, these espresso shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate, maybe some peanut butter kiss cookies or some type of chocolate cookie.

  25. Adrianna says:

I am making peppermint white chocolate rice crispies:)
This apron is beautiful! Great work Elizabeth!

  26. Precky says:

I will be cooking up a ham, a shrimp gumbo, and baked mac n’ cheese!
