There is nothing like having a pair of chubby hands digging in the garden with you. Sasha loves growing her own little patch of veggies and flowers. She is so excited about getting back into her garden this year and putting up her little fence to keep all the bunnies out as well as the coons who maliciously ate her watermelons last year.
Bringing kids into the garden adds a whole new dimension to the experience. Their little hands fumble the seeds out of the packets and sprinkle them in clumps in the rows. At times they mistake the plants for the weeds and their cute little questions might catch you off guard and make you think! I know we’re reaping a whole lot more than just good food but also good memories for every hour we spend in our garden at home.
PS: It’s a wise idea to get a few extra plants if you have an eager helper. Plan for the inevitable, accidental weeding!
